A Poem for Thursday...Home Thoughts.

Home Thoughts

How is it that stones
Eventually
Make their way
To the surface of the earth?
*
…smells of strong carbolic soap…
Selah
*
Truth does it too
However deeply it has been covered over.
*
…smell of foul chemicals...
Selah
*
I wonder what we would do
If we had a revolution?
If we had one
What would happen
Afterwards?
*
…strong river odours...
Selah
*
A dog is crying again
Somewhere
Nearby.
Crying with the voice of a crying adult.
Very sad.
*
…familiar choking traffic fumes
and
the “hee haw” of the police....
Selah
*
The morning winds
Are fit to ride today.
Sharp
They cut to the quick
Like a revolutionary assassin.
Nature at it’s most elemental.
*
…acrid smells of a bonfire...
Selah
*
Is this the sublime?
