Thumbelina
This is the cat
with the exta toes.
With bites on her ears
and a bite on her nose.
Who suddenly comes
and suddenly goes.
And nobody knows where she's from.
This is the cat
who winds round your feet,
And sits on your lap
'til the crossword's complete.
Who lies in the grass
to escape from the heat.
Then swishes her tail....and she's gone!

Sounds like a fun little companion, as aloof as she may be. smiles.
ReplyDeleteA challenge to Eliot by Gad!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwww! Thumbs =) xxx
ReplyDeleteI like cats. Strange creatures; only really friendly when they're hungry. I suppose they're the opposite of me; I get a bit grumpy when I've been left unfed for too long!
ReplyDeletereflections...she is very sweet...thankyou for the smile!
ReplyDeleteDave...now Eliot was a genius....but he did love his cats...so we forgive him!
Cro...you're right strange creatures cats...I'm just regularly grumpy, it's the grumpy old woman syndrome they tell me!
beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
too cute.
ReplyDelete:)
Beautiful words to describe an unusual cat. Extra toes might come in handy I guess.

thankyou so much for the grand comments on this pretty cat! she is cute and warm and beautiful....unfortunately...she is not mine . I think that she belongs to a neighbour who is out at work...but of all the 16 gardens around about, she has chosen ours to stray into and have a cuddle. Very proud...must be doing something right...as they said in The Sound Of Music!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is awfully cute!! And that song from "The Sound of Music" is terrific. You've got me thinking about it now :)
ReplyDeleteI love cats. She belongs to you too of course. But she thinks that you belong to her. At least you're one of Thumbelina's slaves. And that's a great honour!

By the way. The cat-poem is lovely. She would be delighted!
