The Green Bike

I don't know about you ...but I find it really hard to throw stuff away!
For instance...
...this green bike...never really any good to ride ...but it looks so good just sitting there under the elder tree......
................ and getting so entwined in the ivy that it's now part of the garden!

...and then again....
...what earthly use can there be to keep the grown-up son's ancient Tonka truck....
.................for goodness sake look at the state of it!

Aw!

Well it's in bits and there it will stay until it rusts into oblivion and becomes part of the earth!!
What is rust good for in the garden?   There must be some plant that will benefit one day.

Monday, October 22

A bit more colour still there.

I had a good mosey around in the garden at the weekend and just when you think that all the flowers are over and nature is going off to sleep...
...the berries arrive...

...snow berries...

...purple berries...
?

...patio berries...
?

...ivy berries...

...honeysuckle berries...

...iris berries...

...yes ...yes I know...they aren't really called patio berries or purple berries...
...BUT...
I only grow them...well to be honest ...
...I put them in the ground and they grow themselves..
...and I'm always amazed at what occurs!
So I gathered a handful of the various types
and made up an autumn posie for the living room cupboard.

I could call this one...
..."A Mary Berry"...
but that really would be silly!!
